For over 20 years, board-certified vascular and general surgeon Dr. Randall Kirby has focused on the unique intricacies of anterior spinal access surgery. He has personally performed over 15,000 of these procedures at more than 60 DFW-area hospitals and at hospitals in other major cities in Texas.
Considered a leader in this field, Dr. Kirby has participated in national instructional forums offering education to other surgeons in perfecting these techniques. In addition, he has participated in the general and vascular surgery training programs at Baylor University Medical Center, Methodist Dallas Medical Center and Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital, Dallas. He has also served as an instructor for several orthopedic medical device manufacturers including Depuy Synthes, Medtronic and Nuvasive.
Dr. Kirby retired from the U.S. Army Reserve as a lieutenant colonel, having served in active duty at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany during Operation Enduring Freedom in 2002 and Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2003. He received multiple military awards for his service.
Dr. Kirby is the president of Dallas Surgical Specialists and is the co-founder of the Society of Spinal Access Surgeons.
